Samantha

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an Indian film actress and model, known for her works in Telugu and Tamil film industies. She has started modeling during her late teens. She made her tollywood debut with the romantic film "Ye Maaya Chesave". She became the second actress after Revathi to win both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress. Her latest released movie is Janatha Garage.

Biography

Samantha was born on 28 April 1987, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She has completed her schooling from St.Stephens Matriculation school, Chennai and did her Higher secondary in Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, T.Nagar. She has done her graduation in commerce from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She has endorsed various brands like Chik Shampoo, Gokul Sandiva, Big C Mobiles, Saravana Stores and recently signed for Lux ad. She is associated with a campaign supporting the children suffering from the disease Hemophilia, since October 2012.

Janatha Garage is a Telugu action movie, directed by Koratala Siva. It features N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen and Mohanlal in lead roles. This is the third film for NTR and Samantha to pair on-screen. Kajal Aggarwal was seen in an item number in the movie.

Actress Samantha is dating tollywood actor Naga Chaitanya. The couple are spending quality time with each other. They were even attended a wedding function together. Since there is a talk about Sam engagement with Chai, she is not accepting any fresh ventures. As per the reports, Sam and Nag will tie knot next year.

Samantha was born to a Telugu father Prabhu and a Malayali mother, Ninette Prabhu. She was raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu so became fluent in Tamil language. Apart from mixed regional background, she sees herself as a Tamilian because she has grown up speaking Tamil and English at home.

Career

Samantha made her Tollywood debut with Gautham Menon's film, Ye Maaya Chesave opposite Naga Chaitanya. Upon release she received positive reviews for her portrayal, with film also garnering much critical acclaim. Her next release in Telugu is Brindaavanam alongside NTR Jr and Kajal Aggarwal. She is best known for playing opposite super stars of Tellywood. Her film Dookudu alongside Mahesh Babu, was a blockbuster.

Samantha has made her bollywood debut with the film Ekk Deewana Tha in a cameo appearance. In 2013, she appeared in the film Attarintiki Daredi, opposite Pawan Kalyan, which earned her SIIMA award for Best Actress - Telugu. Her 2016 movies are 24, Brahmotsavam, A Aa and Janatha Garage

A...Aa with a tag line 'Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari' is directed by Trivikram and produced by S. Radha Krishna. It featured Nithiin and Samantha as Anasuya Ramalingam in lead roles. The movie got positive reviews.
