Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan is an Indian film actor, producer, playback singer and also a television host. He made his acting debut in the year 2000 with the drama film 'Refugee'. He has received three Filmfare Awards and a National Award for being producer. He has starred in all the parts of action series 'Dhoom', which provided him with a massive growth in his career. He was seen in Housefull 3 opposite Nargis Fakhri.

Biography

Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5 February 1976, in Mumbai, India. He has done his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School, Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and further continued at Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. He attended Aiglon College in Switzerland. Later, went to Boston University, United States for studying Business but was a drop-out in order to try his luck in films. He has been the brand ambassador for several products like LG Home appliances, American Express credit cards, Videocon DTH, Motorola mobiles, Ford fiesta and Idea mobiles. In 2009, Abhishek was announced the winner of "Best Brand Ambassador of the Year" at NDTV Techlife Awards 2009.

Abhishek Bachchan is married to former Miss World, actor and model Aishwarya Rai on April 20, 2007. The wedding ceremony was a private function which took place at one of the Bachchan houses 'Prateeksha' in Juhu, Mumbai. She gave birth to a baby girl Aaradhya on 16 November, 2011 in Mumbai.

Family

Abhishek Bachchan is the son of the bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. He has an elder sister, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. His grandfather Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a Hindi poet and professor of Hindi literature at Allahabad University, Uttar Pradesh.

The original last name of his family is Shrivastava, but Bachchan being the pen name used by his grandfather now has been adopted by the entire family.

Career

In the year 2000, Abhishek began his career with J.P. Dutta's Refugee which also marked the Bollywood debut of Kareena Kapoor. For Abhishek's work in "Yuva", he was awarded his first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Apart from films, he has hosted a game show National Bingo Night for Colors. His TV debut fetched 3.5 in the TV ratings. He was seen in a hit movie Bol Bachchan in which he played a supporting role alongside Ajay Devgan as the lead actor.
