Shahrukh Khan is an Indian film actor, producer, TV host, mentor and philanthropists. He has appeared in more than 50 Hindi films in genres ranging from romance to action and comedies. He is one of the most awarded Bollywood actor of all time including actor Dilip Kumar. He was awarded with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005, and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France in 2007 for his contribution to films. Now he will be seen in the upcoming flick Raees.

Biography

SRK was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India into a Muslim family. His father, Taj Mohammed Khan was an ethnic Pathan and an Indian independence activist from Peshawar, British India and mother Lateef Fatima was the daughter of a senior government engineer. He was brought up in Mangalore for the first five years of his life. His father died of cancer when Shahrukh was 15 years old and his mother died in 1990 after prolonged illness. He has an elder sister named Shehnaz.

Shah Rukh will be seen in the sequel of Darr, titled as "Darr 2.0". It will be revival of the psychological thriller as a five part web series by YFilms. The teaser trailer of the web series is out. Darr 2.0, will feature Rahul, Kiran and Sunil from the original but in an entirely new roles. It is being directed by Vikas Chaitndra and produced by YRF.

SRK will be seen in Gauri Shinde's upcoming movie Dear Zindagi opposite Alia Bhatt. It is produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment. SRK will be seen playing the role of psychiatrist. Shah Rukh has also been roped in for Imtiaz Ali's directorial film tentatively titled, "The Ring". As per the reports, Shah Rukh Khan is making a special appearance in Karan Johar's flick Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He plays Aishwarya Rai's husband who dies in the film. It's after his death that Ash gets closer to Ranbir Kapoor's character

Marriage/Wife/Children

Shahrukh got married to Gauri Chibber in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991. They have a son Aryan (born 1997) and a daughter Suhana (born 2000). In 2013 they became parents of a third child named AbRam via surrogacy.

Career

Shahrukh has studied acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John at Delhi's "Theatre Action Group". He played the leading role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai in the critically acclaimed show Fauji, which earned him mass recognition. In 1991, he shifted base to Mumbai and received his first film offer with Hema Malini's directorial debut Dil Aashna Hai. 

However, due to production delays, his second film, Deewana (1992), alongside Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti released first. The film became a box office hit and launched his career in Bollywood and he won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, the following year.

In 1995, Khan starred in Aditya Chopra's directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The film was declared an "all time blockbuster" and it remains the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema. The actor has been part of many blockbuster hits and is one of the finest actor of bollywood.

Education

Shahrukh Khan attended St. Columba's School and the Hansraj College earning his Bachelors degree in Economics. He pursued a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia. He has also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi to pursue a career in Bollywood. 

Raees Movie

Raees is an upcoming Indian crime film directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan under the banners of Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles.
